The story of Arcadian Resources begins not in a boardroom, but in the field. Founder Jimmy, a native of Colorado, entered the oil and gas workforce directly after high school. He began his career on the ground floor—literally—as part of a drilling crew, gradually building his knowledge, experience, and leadership skills through years of hard labor and observation. From backup hand to full-fledged driller, Jimmy’s rise through the ranks is a testament to the kind of integrity and perseverance that now defines Arcadian’s operational ethos.
It was while working on a rig near Hays, Kansas, that Jimmy met Shayna, a Lakeside High School graduate and student at Fort Hays State University. A proud Glen Elder native, Shayna had her own ambitions rooted in education, community, and a desire to create something lasting in the place she called home. Their meeting marked not only the beginning of a personal partnership but the birth of a shared dream—one that would eventually become Arcadian Resources.
Following Shayna’s graduation in 2015, the couple made the decision to return to her hometown. They purchased their first home in Glen Elder in 2020, but the groundwork for Arcadian Resources had already begun. By 2018, the company was operational, built on Jimmy’s field expertise and Shayna’s organizational insight, with both founders committed to growing a business that would provide for their family and invest in their community.
Expanding Footprint, Local Foundations
Arcadian Resources operates with a clear mission: to explore, develop, and manage oil and gas assets through efficient, ethical, and community-aligned practices. The company specializes in full-cycle oil well management, encompassing exploration, drilling, completion, and maintenance.
Arcadian Resources LLC currently manages approximately 30 wells across 14 Kansas counties, with additional operations in Texas and Nebraska. The company’s strongest presence is in western Kansas, where it continues to scout and develop new opportunities. With energy prices, materials, and industry costs in a constant state of flux, Arcadian focuses on strategic planning and smart development, taking calculated steps that balance growth with financial discipline.
To accommodate its continued expansion, the company acquired a commercial facility—Main Street Place—in 2023. This marked a significant milestone, representing a transition from a home-based startup to a scalable business equipped for long-term success.

These efforts are driven by favorable shifts in the cost of materials and drilling services—conditions that Arcadian is well-positioned to capitalize on thanks to its lean structure and efficient operating model.
Participation in events like the 2024 NAPE Conference in Texas further positions the company on the leading edge of land acquisition, deal-making, and partnership development. Arcadian Resources may be rooted in rural America, but its perspective is forward-thinking and aligned with national trends.
